Sinead and Malachi to cause even bigger buzz.(News)
The People (London, England); 8/24/2003
HOT Ulster Fame Academy couple Sinead Quinn and Malachi Cush are to team up again for a sizzling duet at this year's Big Buzz music awards in
Belfast.
Sinead, last year's Fame Academy runner-up, and Malachi, who was fifth, will woo the crowds in their first on stage appearance together since
last year's Fame Academy tour.
The pair, who thrilled audiences with an on-screen steamy drunken clinch, told us last week that they abandoned their love affair because of the
pressures of fame.
But now Malachi, who still lives in Donaghmore, Co Tyrone with his family, and Sinead, who shares a flat with singer Darius in London, are teaming up
again - but this time only for a song.
The entertainment awards, which are recognised as one of the best in the industry, will take place at the Europa hotel on Thursday September 11.
UTV Live's Mike Nesbitt and Lynda Bryans will host the show, to be broadcast on E4 and feature in OK! Magazine.
An eclectic mix of talent will take to the stage with Malachi and Sinead including punk legends, The Undertones, singer songwriter Juliet Turner, and
Meteor Award Winner, Luke Thomas.
DJ Fergie and DJ Modelle will be hosting the after-show party and top DJ Judge Jules will also put in an appearance.
Big Buzz Magazine editor Barry O'Kane said he was really excited about the awards.
Limited tickets available for the after-show party featuring DJs Fergie, Modelle and Judge Jules priced pounds 15 from Ticketmaster.

ULSTER'S QUEST FOR SAM.. 2 DAYS TO GO: Malachi & Barry to voice support; EXCLUSIVE.(News)
The Mirror (London, England); 9/26/2003
Byline: TINA CALDER
FAME Academy stars Malachi Cush and Barry McKeever have vowed to support their counties all the way this week.
Barry, from Lurgan, Co Armagh, said he's coming back from London to see the match.
The 25-year-old, who is currently in negotiations for a record deal, added that he wouldn't miss the final for the world.
He said: "I am really looking forward to it, hopefully Armagh can do it for a second year.
"This will be my first All-Ireland final and I can't wait. I got the tickets from Claudia at Fame Academy when I left which was a brilliant
surprise.
"Maybe I'll even be able to catch up with Malachi and get him a commiseration drink when Tyrone lose."
But Malachi is confident that Tyrone won't let him down.
The 23-year-old said: "I won't need a comfort drink because I'll be buying a celebratory drink for everyone when Tyrone bring the cup
home where it belongs.
"Armagh won't get it two years in a row, they were lucky last time but their luck has run out.
"I have a great passion for Tyrone and so does the rest of my family, we try to watch every game although it's not so easy now that I am
travelling quite a lot."

AMY'S CUSHY PARTY; Malachi's gig for schoolgirl fan, 12.(News)
The Mirror (London, England); 11/10/2003
Byline: EXCLUSIVE by TINA CALDER
FAME Academy star Malachi Cush entertained fans in a one-off concert organised by a 12-year-old girl.
Around 200 followers from the UK, Ireland, America and Europe gathered for a special meet-and-greet session with the singer at The Fitzwilliam Hotel
in Antrim on Saturday.
His number one fan Amy McConaghie from nearby Ballycastle organised the event through her website http://www.malachimad.com to allow fans to spend the day with the star.
She said: "I have been a fan of Malachi's since he was in the Fame Academy house and wanted to do something to wish him good luck on his
upcoming tour of Asia.
"More than a thousand people tried to buy tickets from the website but we wanted to make it an intimate gig and restricted them to only 200.
"People came from everywhere as far away as New York and Paris.
"When I set the website up in February I knew there were lots of people out there that wanted to follow Malachi's career and as I lived in
Northern Ireland I was able to get along to a few of his gigs.
"I thought it would be a great idea to write reports and post them along with photographs of Malachi on the internet."
The site has been so successful Malachi has now endorsed it as his official fan website.
He said: "Amy has done such as wonderful job. I'm so delighted today to be able to come along to the Fitzwilliam and meet these lovely
fans."

Fame Academy Malachi set for acting debut in Radio 4 drama.(News)
The People (London, England); 12/21/2003
FAME Academy star Malachi Cush is at the centre of a psychological thriller that dips into blackmail and heartache.
The 23-year-old singer plays the role of a young teenager who wins a TV talent contest in the new BBC Radio 4 drama, Every Breath you Take.
Written by Belfast-based writer Annie McCartney, it's about a mother protecting her family from a man who threatens to expose her past in the
newspapers after her son's success.
The star from Donaghmore, Co Tyrone, has also written and performs music for the play to be broadcast on Tuesday, January 6 at 2.15pm.
It marks his first step into the acting world and could be the first of many.
He came fifth in the first Fame Academy.
One of the top talking points in the country was his relationship with Fermanagh girl Sinead Quinn after they were thought to have canoodled together
in a cupboard.
Mal later came out on top in the sales stakes, now outselling his rivals, topping the charts in Malaysia and Thailand.
HIs album sold 83,000 next to winner David Sneddon's 56,000 and Sinead's 10,000.
He's in the process of recording new singles.
The ex-gas fitter is also in the middle of a hectic Christmas schedule.
He is a special guest on UTV's School Around the Corner Christmas Special and is preparing for TV appearances and concerts.
But the Tyrone warbler will not forget those fans closer to home who have backed him every step of the way.
One fan, from Ballycastle, Co Antrim, set up http://www.malachimad.com in a tribute to her
hero.
Malachi has now endorsed it as his official fan website.

Oops I seem to have started off quite a debate here!
I did not force any of my children to go to uni or go into their chosen career. I simply encouraged them to take every opportunity that comes their
way before deciding what to do. I would support them in any decision they make. My oldest had her heart set on it as she wanted to teach primary
children. Her first year she got very homesick and made many weekend home visits during the first two years but when we put her on the bus on a
Sunday evening she knew she wanted to go back to achieve her goals. She got her degree, travelled for a year and worked. Now very happy teaching
but travels as much as possible in her holidays.
My oldest son did an apprenticehip for 3 years and lived at home then decided to work away from home for a year and then decided to go to uni. As an
older student he is very happy and dedicated to his studies. He loves his summer at home though, golfing and caddying for the stars at a well known
castle Castle where madonna got married!!
My youngest son left school at 16 not knowing what to do and disliked school intensely. He took several jobs and we just let him muddle on and
encouraged him to experience different things. He was then fortunate enough to get selected to go to Texas for a golf trip. Always a keen golfer.
He was offered a college sports scholarship which he took up and had to work really hard to maintain grades in order to play his golf. He
discovered that he did not mind school so much after all as he could balance it with his golf. He ended up with excellent grades and an All
American golf position. He has surprised us all. He was homesick the first few months but never thought about giving it up as it was a fantastic
opportunity and he has travelled extensively with his golf in the USA . He then wanted to do a sports science degree at uni in the USA and continue
his golf. He got a place and has just completed year 1 at the age of 23 - so like his older brother he started later than school leaving age but I
am so proud of them for sticking with it and having the guts to leave a small town where they led a pretty shetered life to discover what is out
there.
If they had wanted to stay near home and do something else I would have been equally as proud and happy for them - if they had been happy to do so!
They always come home for holidays, Christmas, Easter etc and we have a good relationship and I did not chase them away. Who knows what's round
the corner but I am glad my lot wanted to experience life outside their home town. I know at least one of them wants to come back and live in the
area, at the moment.
Sorry this has ended up so long a post but I feel strongly about this subject!!!

Yeah there's some really adoarble ones that I've never read before!!! I particularly like:
FAME Academy hunk Malachi Cush proved his love for fellow Irish contestant Sinead Quinn - by ignoring the advances of a sexy blonde just hours after
he was given the boot.
The Tyrone charmer, 22, was expelled from the BBC show on Friday night.
Co-star Sinead was backed by 38 per cent of the public vote and kept her place inside the academy.
Afterwards, Malachi kissed and cuddled in an emotionally-charged session with Fermanagh's Sinead.
He told her she was the 'most beautiful woman' he had ever met and that he would miss her 'badly.' Later he told other party-goers
that he was 'mad about the girl' and that he hoped they would continue their relationship as soon as she's out.
"Of course I would be heartbroken if Malachi left the house and I hope he would miss me too."
They have secretly agreed to meet up in Co Fermanagh when both are out of the show.
Sinead added: "It will be nice to talk to him when the rest of the nation can't listen in."
*sigh* How cute can ye get???? LOL!! :536: :cuddles:
Luv Kyle xxxxx
